Sustainability

We are always looking to make changes to be more kind to our earth and further develop our sustainability plan. We can’t say that we are 100% there because we aren’t – however our aim is progress and our promise is transparency so here are some of our initiatives.

Design Process:

We design our products through the lens of longevity and circularity to reduce our environmental impact. This means developing life cycled solutions to repurpose, repair and recirculate used product and materials. What do we mean?

With half of our collection comprising of raw materials (shearling, rabbit fur, feathers) we proudly acknowledge that these materials are sourced from suppliers that abide by the Global Ethical Guidelines of Manufacturing set by the International Fur Federation. This means our suppliers provide us with rightfully procured fur that is either surplus fur or a secondary product of food trades under the requirements set by the Federation. Instead of going to waste, these by-product materials go through an ‘upcycled’ process to craft handmade, luxury garments which are all renewable, biodegradable & recyclable.

Ensuring quality and versatility is still the core of who we are and what we provide to our customers. We want your special bübish piece/s to be something that you will wear time and time again, year after year not a one-wear-wonder. We therefore aim to design timeless shapes & transeasonal colours whilst still offering something unique. Each garment is crafted with love, care and detail ensuring each design is capped at certain production numbers to not only minimise our environmental footprint but also provide our customers with exclusivity.

Eco Packaging

Tissue Paper

We are so excited to have new eco packaging this year! Our beautiful bübish, blush tissue paper is completely acid & sulphur-free and FSC certified which means it doesn’t impact the environment. The ink used is also made from soybeans as opposed to traditional petroleum-based link which makes the paper you receive easier to recycle.

Mail bags

Our blush pink shipping satchels are also environmentally friendly - made from home compostable materials, mainly corn starch and PBAT (a compostable ingredient which bonds the renewable ingredients together). To compost them at home, it’s best to remove the labels, cut them up and place in your compost bin as “brown” materials. These will break down within 90-120 days in a home-compostable environment.

Satin dust bag

With every bübsh order you will receive a custom, satin dust bag valued at $30. This silky bag can be used for travelling or storing your bübish piece in. It will help to protect your jacket/coat/bolero from colour transfer, sun exposure, excess moisture and dust. Looking after your bübish piece appropriately is vital to the longevity of it. Our complimentary dust bags is part of our sustainability initiative.

*Please note: our current shipment of satin dust bags has been delayed. For this reason all orders are packed in a different manner - without the bübish satin bag.
